Welcome
Life can be overwhelming. We all face times of distress, uncertainty, or hopelessness — moments when we feel stuck or unsure how to move forward. In these times, it can be hard to reach out, even to those closest to us.
As a qualified pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist, I offer a safe, confidential, and compassionate space to explore whatever is troubling you. Whether you're experiencing subtle shifts or significant upheaval, my role is to support you in finding your own way forward — at your pace, and on your terms.
My Approach
I believe every person is unique, and so the work we do together should reflect that. My practice is rooted in respect, acceptance, and a deep belief in your capacity for growth and healing.
- A confidential space without judgement
- Active listening and collaborative exploration
- Support in building resilience, clarity, and self-compassion
- Encouragement to prioritise self-care and emotional wellbeing
Some clients work with me short-term to address a specific challenge, while others engage in longer-term psychotherapy to explore deeper patterns and changes. I honour whichever path feels right for you.
Who I Work With
I work with adults (16+) experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:
- Loss and grief: bereavement, miscarriage, end of relationships, redundancy, loss of home or pets
- Adoption and infertility (including treatment and emotional impact)
- Stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem
- Depression and emotional overwhelm
- Trauma, including abuse and adverse childhood experiences
- Relationship difficulties and identity exploration
- Support for neurodiverse individuals and those within the LGBT+ community
My Background
Born in 1964, I bring not only professional training but also a wealth of life experience. My journey into therapy began over 20 years ago with a course on loss and bereavement while working at Dumfries College. From that moment, I knew I wanted to become a therapist.
For two decades, I worked in Early Learning and Childcare — including 12 years in management — supporting children and families. In 2019, a field trip to Helsinki reignited my desire to pursue therapeutic work, inspired by Finland’s pioneering approaches to mental health. I also attended a residential course at the University of St Andrews led by Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, deepening my understanding of infant brain development and the lasting effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences.
Today, I combine my experience in education, neurodiversity, and therapeutic practice to support people from all walks of life.
